"Whataboutism" & the Resistance to Compare/Contrast Social Issues

Question: Why is all your commentary on everything, literally EVERYTHING in direct comparison to the BLM movement, or your internalized hate of it?

This isn't a competition.

Stop attempting to "yeah but" everything to death because you haven't done enough research on your own "movements" and just say you don’t support BLM.

We know.

However, here are a few things to keep in mind:

Cannon doesn't deserve you using him for your bs. Now if you want to say his name, lets chat about gun control then... *stares blankly*

Human trafficking victims don’t deserve you using them for your personal agenda without doing proper research. (FYI: Most missing children are black btw and most human sex trafficking victims are POC but you knew that already I'm sure).

Black Trans people don't deserve you brushing them to the side in queer conversations. Or any conversations really. The world for them is unsafe and the community they are apart of continues to dismiss them and not protect them. Do better. Yes, I'm looking at you...

Good and decent upstanding members of law enforcement know their life isn't actually BLUE, and that like with any job there are some bad seeds that need to be reported, reprimanded, and removed for being hot steaming trash.

People who have gotten sick or been directly affected by COVID don’t need you with your mask debates or conspiracy theories, put the damn mask on Karen.

The NBA, who profits fully off of Black and African/AA men, should and can use their platforms to peacefully bring attention to their causes. You don’t have to buy little Jimmy THAT jersey girl. But that player does not need to dismiss the very real reality of his or the countless reality of those that look like him in the world because you really like that team. Players are people too *cough cough* and that's on Kap!

Jeffrey Epstein has had his spot in the hottest bits of hell solidified before you just realized he was trash that used his rich cis white male privilege to prey on young women. Newsflash he's NOT the only one. While you try to dig up a dead man's friends list, kids are actually missing right now, in the year if our Quarantine 2020. So is it really about the kids (bc his victims are now adults) or your political agendas...?

The USPS isn't perfect but doesn't deserve this. Put some respect on their name.

AMERICA, just like your potato salad, can be an amazing thing to YOU and still be subject to criticism.

A political candidate can not be your first, second, or even third choice (but neither were a lot of things *cough*), and you can still go VOTE no matter what because you need to and your life truly does depend on it.

You can acknowledge that ALL lives have never truly mattered, let alone been equal, and just because you didn't create the historical situations or circumstances that support that very real and nondebatable truth, it does not mean you cannot be apart of the change that attempts to actually reimagine and correct that for the future.

And just because YOU don't "get it", BLACK LIVES like myself can still fight for equality and justice in ALL of the previously mentioned things, and still wish for a world that treats me better than it historically and systematically has done before.
