Good luck to all my friends auditioning for A Christmas Fantasy Parade this weekend. Remember why you do it. Remember that you loved to dance before you the mouse house made you compare yourself to others. Remember to be as full out as that loop when you’re coming up on Michelle at the Tea Cups. But most of all, remember that booked or not, you made it to the audition this weekend in this heat, and even if the ACF gods aren’t on your side, if you manage to get through the audition with a few of your edges in tack and your wig still attached from Satan’s extremely hot grasp on your wig, YOU ARE A WINNER. And if you STILL are doubting your awesomeness, feel free to schedule an appointment with me and I can tell you a story about a girl who auditioned for ACF five times to no avail, then had one magically perfect season, and went back into the not booked obscurity and still finds a way to smile and support others every year…

Don’t compare yourself.
Don’t compete with anyone else.
Don’t be too hard on yourself.
Don’t doubt your entire existence as a dancer.
Don’t knock gingerbread and snowperson because someone’s got to do it.
Don’t worry about the new kids with wet ID cards.

Do you. Shiny new toys are cute and all, but there’s nothing like old faithful. So, be that faithfully consistent performer and have a great time… always.
